Global Action Awards Application

NetAid Global Action Awards honor high school students in the U.S. who have organized and led a project that has impacted people in poor countries, or raised awareness about global poverty in their own communities. The Awards celebrate young people who have shown great leadership in areas such as preventing HIV/AIDS, alleviating hunger and improving access to education.

Does this sound like you? Have you led an innovative poverty-fighting project with the cooperation of your peers? Did you put your leadership skills to the test and inspire others to get involved? Did you raise awareness about a global issue in your community or directly affect the lives of individuals in poor countries?

Here’s what you need to know:

To qualify:   You must have attended a U.S. high school during the 2005-2006 academic school year. That means any student in the 9th through 12th grades in the 2005-2006 academic school year.
Award:   Honorees are awarded $5,000 for college or a charitable cause of their choice.
Deadline:   November 30, 2006. What's next? Judging in January 2007. Announcement in February 2007.
